After one season in the Purple and Aqua, Florida SouthWestern forward Eugene Alvin is headed to the Division I level after signing with Morgan State to join the Bears for the 2025-2026 campaign.
FORT MYERS, Fla.- After one season in the Purple and Aqua, Florida SouthWestern forward Eugene Alvin is headed to the Division I level after signing with Morgan State to join the Bears for the 2025-2026 campaign.
Alvin played in all 29 games for the Bucs this season, starting 28 of them, while averaging 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 46% from the field. He scored in double figures 12 times for the Bucs including a career high 20 against Polk State in mid-January. He ripped the nets at a 41.7% clip from three on the year which is the fourth best mark in a single season in FSW history.
Morgan State finished 14-18 overall a season ago and were right in the thick of things in the MEAC standings with a 7-7 mark in league play.
Alvin is one four players to sign at the Division I level and one of six players overall from the Bucs 2024-2025 squad who have signed at the next level, joining Jafeth Martinez (USC Upstate), Chol Machot (Charleston), Breno Silva (Barry), Ahmed Soumahoro (Columbus State), and K'jei Parker (UMass).
