Freshman (2024): Mambelli was a 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State pick as a freshman after hitting .385 in 59 games for the Bucs. She finished with a team high 15 doubles while driving in 54 runs which ranked second on the team. She picked up her first career hit in a win over New College of Florida, driving in a season high five runs in the process.  Mambelli had 12 multi-hit games on the year including three straight midway through the campaign against Hillsborough and Eastern Florida.  She had her first career four hit game two weeks later against St. Petersburg when she was 4 for 4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs in a 7-0 Buccaneer win.  Mambelli had 16 multi-RBI games for the Bucs and knocked in a run in 10 straight games to close out March. 

High School: Mambelli joined the Bucs from Forli, Italy where she prepped at Liceo Scientifico Fulcieri Paolucci de Calboli. She helped Italy to a U22 European Championship, batting .680 with two home runs and nine RBIs in the tournament.  

Personal: Born February 28, 2004, she is the daugher of Erica Matton and Gian Luca Mambelli.  She has an older sister Giulia (28) and an older brother, Nicola (25).

Cardiac Kids Hang On To Advance to Elite Eight

Despite being separated by nearly 1,500 miles, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers and Butler Grizzlies have created quite a postseason history between them and chapter four was added to the tetralogy on Wednesday at the NJCAA World Series in Yuma, Arizona. It was a back and forth affair from the start with #1 FSW hanging on late, stranding the tying run at third base to end the game in a 7-6 victory over the #16 Grizzlies to advance to the winner's bracket semifinals at the tournament.

Bucs Use Big Comeback For Opening Round Win

The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers found themselves in an unfamiliar position Tuesday afternoon in their opening game of the 2025 NJCAA World Series, in fact a position that they haven't been in at any point in time during the 2025 season.  The Bucs fell behind #24 Crowder 5-0 right away and eventually faced a 7-0 deficit in the 4th inning, their biggest hole of the season, before roaring back with 11 runs in the final three innings to win 11-8 and avoid the upset.

The two teams responsible for the last four NJCAA National Championships collided at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers on Tuesday as the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers hosted the #3 Indian River State Pioneers. Indian River took game one 3-2 in a tight battle before FSW cruised in game two 7-3 to split the twinbill and leave the Bucs one game up in the race for their ninth straight Conference Championship.

Bucs Settle For Split With #8 Seminole

A late stumble in game one of their Citrus Conference doubleheader against the #8 Seminole State Raiders cost the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers a 7-5 loss before bouncing back for a 6-1 win in game two to split the Top 10 matchup with the Raiders.

Veteran Bats Lead #1 FSW Over #19 Eastern Florida

The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers leaned on their sophomores on Saturday in a Citrus Conference doubleheader against the #19 Eastern Florida Titans as Skylar Brennan, Virginia Mambelli, Emily Allegood, and Kmari Williams all recorded multiple hits in both ends of the twinbill to lead the Bucs past the Titans 9-1 and 7-5 to improve to 33-1 on the year.

Big Innings Lead Bucs Past Eagles In Sweep

The top ranked Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers used six crooked numbers to sweep Polk State Saturday afternoon in Winter Haven, run ruling the Eagles 10-2 in game one before winning a wild game two 12-7 to improve to 29-1 on the year.

Bucs Sweep Low Scoring Doubleheader With Saints

It took a late game comeback in game one and a shutout in the circle in game two, but the #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers earned two more hard fought Citrus Conference wins on Saturday at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, defeating Santa Fe 3-2 in game one of the doubleheader and 3-0 in game two to improve to a perfect 24-0 on the year.

FSW Sweeps Matchup Of Last Four National Champs

The only two teams to win an NJCAA Division I National Championship the past four seasons hooked up Tuesday afternoon in Fort Pierce as the 2021, 2022, and 2023 Champion Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers squared off against the 2024 Champion Indian River State Pioneers. Game one was dominated by pitching with FSW's Leah Meyer outdueling reigning National Pitcher of the Year J'dah Girigorie in a 2-1 Bucs win.  Game two was a different story as the Bucs exploded for 13 runs in a dominating 13-5 victory to finish off the sweep and remain unbeaten at a perfect 22-0 on the year.

Yzaguirre/Meyer Spin Shutouts Against #10 Seminole

The #2 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers managed just four runs in their doubleheader against the #10 Seminole State Raiders Thursday afternoon at Buccaneers Park in Fort Myers, but that is all they would need as pitchers Zoe Yzaguirre and Leah Meyer combined to allow the Raiders just five hits in 16 scoreless innings as FSW won 1-0 and 3-0 to sweep the twinbill and improve to 18-0 on the year.

Bucs Get Three Wins For Valentine's Day Present Friday

The #7 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers spent their 2025 Valentine's Day at the Softball diamond on Friday. The Bucs won the bookends of their tripleheader in blowout fashion, defeating Spoon River 9-0 and Chipola 7-1, while orchestrating a huge comeback for a 7-6 walk off win over #8 Southern Idaho in the middle game to remain unbeaten at 14-0 on the year.
