Bucs Continue Climb Up NJCAA National Rankings
After running their win streak to eight games with a 4-0 week in Citrus Conference action, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers moved up to #3 in the NJCAA Division I Softball National Rankings on Monday.
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After running their win streak to eight games with a 4-0 week in Citrus Conference action, the Florida SouthWestern Buccaneers moved up to #3 in the NJCAA Division I Softball National Rankings on Monday.
The Bucs had a 4-0 week, sweeping both St. Petersburg and #6 Eastern Florida to improve to 23-3 on the year. Tuesday at home against St. Pete they took game one 7-3 before hammering the Titans 13-0 in game two as Charlotte Graham threw just the second perfect game in FSW history. Saturday they had a Top 10 showdown with #6 Eastern Florida and handled the Titans 8-2 in game one before Zoe Yzaguirre pitched a shutout in game two 4-0 to finish off the perfect Saturday.
36% of the Top 25 hailed from the Sunshine State in week three as Northwest Florida at #2 and FSW at #3 led a group that included #6 Indian River, #7 Santa Fe, #9 Eastern Florida, #12 Seminole State, #16 Miami Dade, #20 Daytona State, and #23 Gulf Coast State.
The Bucs have a light week ahead with just a Saturday doubleheader on the road at Polk State on the docket.
