CHARLOTTE, N.C.- It was another day, another award for Florida SouthWestern righthander Charlotte Graham on Wednesday as the Bucs freshman was named the NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week following her perfect game against St. Petersburg last week.
Graham was untouchable last week striking out 11 of 15 batters she faced against St. Petersburg in just the second perfect game in FSW history. She needed just 57 pitches to do the trick with 43 of those being strikes.
She is the first FSW pitcher to earn National Pitcher of the Week honors since current Bucs teammate Zoe Yzaguirre did so exactly one year ago as a freshman.
Graham and the Bucs are back in action on Saturday in Winter Haven when they take on Polk State in a Citrus Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 PM.
