TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After firing just the third perfect game in Florida SouthWestern history, freshman righthander Alexandra Solo has been named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week.
It was 15 up and 15 down for Solo in her lone start of the week last week for the Bucs, throwing the third perfect game in program history in an 8-0 win over Hillsborough. She needed just 65 pitches to complete the trick, striking out eight of the 15 batters she faced in the contest.
On the season Solo is 3-0 with a 2.41 ERA, striking out 34 opposing hitters in her 29 innings of work.
She is the third different FSW pitcher in the past four weeks to earn Pitcher of the Week honors, joining Zoe Yzaguirre who picked up the honors last week, and Charlotte Graham who was the March 10th winner.
