Freshman (2019): Bello saw action in 20 matches as a freshman, averaging 1.56 digs per set for the Bucs.  She put together her best three matches of the season in succession, pulling up a career 16 digs in a win over Eastern Florida and backing that up with 13 and 12 dig performances against Richard Bland and Miami Dade the Bucs next two times out.  

High School: Bello came to FSW from beautiful Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she prepped at CEL Intercultural School. She helped CEL to a pair of second place finishes in the Indoor School Nationals and also a second place finish on the beach in 2017.  She played at three different clubs including Tijuca Tenis Clube, Botafogo Futebol e Regata, and Fluminense Futebol Clube.  She led her club squads to a number of championships, most recently at the Taça Paraná de Volei Indoor Championship. Bello also participated in Handball at CEL. 

Personal: Born August 18, 2000, she is the daughter of Gilberto and Priscila. She has one brother, Thaigo (16).

Bucs Drop Five Set Heartbreaker to #1 Miami Dade in State Semis

The #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers pushed the #1 Miami Dade Sharks to the wire Saturday afternoon in the FCSAA State Tournament Semifinals, doing something no other team has done all season, take two sets from the Sharks, but in the end, Miami Dade remained undefeated, nipping the Bucs 15-12 in the fifth set to win 3-2.  The Bucs will now play in a second semifinal on Sunday morning against #8 Polk State with the winner taking on the Sharks in the Championship game at 2 PM.

Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Giovanna Bello will be headed from one of the top NJCAA Volleyball programs in the country to one of the top NAIA Volleyball programs in the country next season as Tuesday the Bucs' defensive specialist signed with Park University, the 2020 Heart of America Champions and #1 ranked team in the country.

Bucs Sweep #6 Daytona, Fall to #1 Miami Dade

The murderer's row portion of the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers schedule came to a close on Sunday at Suncoast Credit Union Arena.  The 12th ranked Bucs opened the day with their second straight win over a top 10 ranked opponent, sweeping #6 Daytona State 3-0 before dropping a highly contested 3-0 battle with #1 Miami Dade in the nightcap of their busy day.
