Freshman (2021): Cecilia played in all 30 matches for the Bucs as a freshman in 2021, averaging 2.17 kills and 0.64 blocks per set on the season. She had 10 or more kills 10 times on the year including a career high 14 on two different occasions in wins over State College of Florida and Polk State. She showed up big in the Bucs final two matches at the NJCAA National Tournament, finishing off 21 kills and hitting .312 in wins over Blinn and Miami Dade to help FSW finish 5th at the tournament.
High School: Cecilia was one of six Brazilians on the Bucs roster in 2021, coming to FSW from Rio de Janeiro. She played for Esporte Clube Pinheiros where she led her team to Sao Paulo State Championships in 2018 and 2019.
Personal: Born February 23, 2001, she is the daughter of Nilson Barros de Pinho and Selma Martins dos Santos. She has an older brother, Daniel (24).

After winning a National Championship with the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers as a sophomore in 2022, Maria Cecilia has signed with NCAA Division II power Lynn University to continue her academic and athletic career.
Florida SouthWestern middle hitter Christina Pratcher has found her home for the final two years of her Volleyball and academic career as the Bucs National Champ will be headed to the Tar Heel State where she will play at Fayetteville State University.
The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are National Champions. The Bucs secured their first National Championship in just their fourth season of competition Saturday night in West Plains, Missouri, defeating their archrivals, the Miami Dade Sharks 3-1 in the final game of the 2022 NJCAA Volleyball season. FSW's Barbara Koehler was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament while Bucs Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen was named the Heidi Cartisser Coach of the Tournament.

The top seeded Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers mowed through the #16 Wallace State Lions with clinical precision Thursday afternoon at the NJCAA National Tournament, needing less than an hour to put together a 3-0 win to advance to their second straight National Tournament Quarterfinal Thursday night where they will take on #9 Central Wyoming.
The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rolled to their second three set victory of the day Thursday night at the NJCAA National Tournament as they took on the #9 Central Wyoming Rustlers and in doing so earning their first trip to the NJCAA Final Four in program history in the process.
The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers made history in more than one way on Saturday in Melbourne, not only winning the program's first FCSAA State Championship in a dominating 3-0 effort, but they did it against their arch rivals, the #7 Miami Dade Sharks, making themselves just the third team in the 53 year history of the FCSAA to knock off the Sharks in a State Championship Game.
A season ago, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were stunned in the semifinals of the FCSAA State Tournament with a 3-2 loss to Polk State to end their dreams of the program's first State Championship. Friday, in the same position one year later in Melbourne, the Bucs weren't going to let that happen again as they jumped on the #17 Eastern Florida State Titans early and never relented, hammering the Cinderella Titans 3-0 on Eastern's home floor to advance to their second FCSAA State Championship Game in the past three seasons.
After winning their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship on the final week of the regular season last week, a league high six Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were honored for their efforts Thursday night at the FCSAA State Tournament banquet as Alondra Alarcon, Julia Lawrenz, Maria Cecilia, Arianna Rossi, Barbara Koehler, and Roberta Purashaj were named to the Suncoast Conference All-Conference Team while Purashaj was named the Freshman of the Year and Head Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen was named the conference’s Coach of the Year for the third straight year.
