Lassiter Inks With Miners
Florida SouthWestern sophomore Paige Lassiter is headed to the Lone Star State after signing her National Letter of Intent with the UTEP Miners for next season.
EL PASO, Texas- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Paige Lassiter is headed to the Lone Star State after signing her National Letter of Intent with the UTEP Miners for next season.
Lassiter played in 43 games for the Bucs this season, hitting .388 with 15 runs scored. She burst onto the scene for the Bucs on opening weekend, recording her first career hits and first career RBI in a 3-3 effort against St. Johns River. She came up big for the Bucs again at the FCSAA State Tournament later in the season, scoring a run in all four FSW contests while driving in a pair of runs against #11 Gulf Coast State and going 3-4 in the semifinals against Eastern Florida.
She joins a UTEP squad coming off of a much improved 2024 campaign where they went 26-21 overall and 11-13 in Conference USA action to reach the conference tournament for the first time in five seasons.
Lassiter is one of seven Bucs headed to the Division I level and eight Bucs overall inked to head to the next level in 2024-2025, joining teammates Sydney McCray (Grand Canyon), Esmee Ames (Troy), Sietske Drijvers (Mercer), Lea Chevrier (Miami-OH), D'Yani McKinley (Prairie View A&M), Jenna Teakert (Eastern Illinois), and Ella Moore (Georgian Court).
