he #11 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers offense got off to a hot start Thursday night in their FCSAA State Tournament matchup with Northwest Florida State, scoring four runs in the 1st inning, but they went cold from there as the Raiders scored nine unanswered in the final eight innings for a 12-4 victory to send the Bucs to the elimination bracket starting on Friday.

Major League Baseball scouts have been flocking to City of Palms Park to watch the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers all season long, and for good reason. Wednesday, Perfect Game released its Top 400 draft prospects for the 2021 MLB Draft with four FSW players on the list.  The four Bucs on the list were more than any other junior college in the country and even more than Division I blue bloods like Texas, USC, Oklahoma, and Michigan.

Friday, 38 Florida SouthWestern State student-athletes from five different sports, six different countries, and countless different backgrounds, walked across the stage in Suncoast Credit Union Arena to receive their diplomas during the Bucs commencement ceremony.  One thing they all had in common; each left Fort Myers as champions, having all won at least one Conference Championship during their time at FSW.

The #12 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won their fifth straight game Wednesday afternoon at City of Palms Park, much in the same way they won the previous four, dominating pitching.  For the fifth straight game, FSW pitching allowed two runs or less, in this case, eight innings of one run ball from starter Enrique Cotto as the Bucs took a 4-1 decision over visiting St. Petersburg to inch close to their second straight Suncoast Conference title.

Consistency is key in team sports and consistent is what the #15 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were this week in their three game series against the South Florida State Panthers.  FSW won the opener 5-2 on Wednesday before posting a 5-1 win Friday to clinch the series and did the same once again on Saturday at home at City of Palms Park, winning 5-1 behind a solid effort on the mound from Alex Ayala and Riley Skeen to sweep the series and remain in control of their own destiny atop the Suncoast Conference standings.
