The Florida SouthWestern State Athletic Department brought home an NJCAA high three awards in the 2YSIDA Graphics & Publications Contest for the 2020-2021 athletic year, claiming 1st place accolades for their team schedule poster and game notes while earning 2nd place in the gameday graphics category.

Which coast is the best coast? Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Kellen Valentim will soon be able to answer that question as the Bucs right side hitter will head across the country next season where she will play for the University of San Francisco after signing her National Letter of Intent on Monday.

Friday, 38 Florida SouthWestern State student-athletes from five different sports, six different countries, and countless different backgrounds, walked across the stage in Suncoast Credit Union Arena to receive their diplomas during the Bucs commencement ceremony.  One thing they all had in common; each left Fort Myers as champions, having all won at least one Conference Championship during their time at FSW.

Wednesday was another historic day in a season filled with historic firsts for the Florida SouthWestern State Volleyball program as Yasso Amin and Fiona Baker were named the Buccaneers' first NJCAA All-American's as announced by the National Office this afternoon.

FSW Finishes 8th at First NJCAA National Tournament

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers wrapped up their first trip to the NJCAA National Tournament on Saturday, falling 3-1 to #4 Utah State Eastern to finish the tournament in 8th place.

#6 FSW Blanked by #2 Odessa at National Tournament

The #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were looking for revenge Friday at the NJCAA National Tournament as they took on the #2 Odessa Wranglers, who handed the Bucs a five set loss earlier this season.  Every set played out nearly identically as Odessa got out to an early lead before FSW came back to tie things up midway through, but at the end, the Wranglers pulled off a 3-0 sweep in three close sets to advance to Saturday's 5th place matchup while the Bucs fell to the 7th place match where they will try to finish their 2020-2021 season with a win Saturday morning against Utah State-Eastern.

Bucs Upended In National Tournament Quarters

The #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers made their NJCAA National Tournament debut Thursday night in the West Plains Civic Center as they took on perennial power and #3 Snow College from Utah in the tournament quarterfinals. The Bucs went toe to toe with the Badgers, but in the end, dropped a 3-0 decision and ending their quest for a National Championship in just their second season of competition.

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers first NJCAA National Tournament match in program history ended before it even began on Tuesday as due to a positive Covid-19 test inside of the Navarro program, the match, scheduled for 9:00 AM Thursday, has been canceled. The match, which will be counted as a no-contest, will send FSW to the quarterfinal round where they advance to play the winner of the Snow/Barton game Thursday night at 6:00 (CT).

The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will open up their first NJCAA National Tournament in program history as the #6 seed in the bracket, holding the seed of their final National Ranking as announced by the NJCAA National Office on Monday afternoon.

As most teams do in 2021, the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have a group chat on their phones to send daily messages throughout the team in the easiest fashion.  The title of that group chat; The Road to Missouri, referencing the location of the 2021 NJCAA National Tournament, West Plains, Missouri.  After winning the Suncoast Conference Championship and finishing as the Runners-Up at the FCSAA Tournament last week, that road to Missouri was paved for the Bucs on Friday as they defeated Spartanburg Methodist 3-0 to punch their ticket to their first NJCAA National Tournament in program history as the NJCAA Southeast District B Champions.

Finishing as the FCSAA State Runners-Up last week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers held their spot at #6 in the final NJCAA National Ranking of 2020-2021.

FSW Finishes As State Runners-Up, Advances to Southeast District Championships

It was a battle of two teams in very different spots in their program histories Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville as the #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took on the #1 Miami Dade Sharks for the FCSAA State Championship. The Bucs, in just their second season as a program, matched up against the 39-time State Champion Sharks. The Bucs fought valiantly, but couldn't overcome the undefeated Sharks attack, falling in three sets to finish as the 2020-2021 FCSAA Runners-Up.  The second place finish earned the Bucs a trip to the next round of the postseason where they will take on Spartanburg Methodist next Friday in Jacksonville in the Southeast District Finals with a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament on the line.

Bucs Drop Five Set Heartbreaker to #1 Miami Dade in State Semis

The #6 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers pushed the #1 Miami Dade Sharks to the wire Saturday afternoon in the FCSAA State Tournament Semifinals, doing something no other team has done all season, take two sets from the Sharks, but in the end, Miami Dade remained undefeated, nipping the Bucs 15-12 in the fifth set to win 3-2.  The Bucs will now play in a second semifinal on Sunday morning against #8 Polk State with the winner taking on the Sharks in the Championship game at 2 PM.
